A loving woman trusts her caring husband unconditionally, even as he gradually takes on a smug protective role. For him, danger lurks everywhere, and thanks to the deluge of information on the Internet, he knows exactly what threats they face and how best to defend themselves.
For his wife, the family’s security becomes misery. The futility and unbearableness of their sheltered existence only become clear to her, though, when she becomes pregnant. She decides she would rather face instant death outside her husband’s constructed safe zone.
But to her surprise, the world beyond the walls of the refuge is not ending at all. Her husband, however, will not accept her reality, and goes on living through his own private apocalypse.
